Solape Hammond

Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on (SDGs) and Investments.

Solape Hammond is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Investments.

Prior to this, she worked in the private sector for over 20 years in various capacities, gathering experience in Management Consulting, Risk Management, Banking and Financial Advisory.

Solape commenced her consulting career at Accenture, leaving as a Manager in the Finance and Performance Management Market Unit. She has also previously worked in Credit Administration and Risk Management at a Nigerian Merchant Bank and served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a financial advisory firm based in Lagos with clients across Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia and other parts of Africa.

She then established a business advisory firm - Ten Talents Limited - which provides business planning, recruitment, strategy development, process improvement, organizational transformation, risk management, performance management, programme management and financial advisory services.

She also co-founded Impact Hub Lagos and served as it’s inaugural CEO. Impact Hub Lagos is part of a rapidly expanding global network of over 16,000 members across 90+ open hubs in 50 countries worldwide.

Over the years, Solape has supported several national macro-economic transformation initiatives including the Central Bank of Nigeria Transformation Programme (CBN Project EAGLES 2003-2005) and the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) Capital Markets Transformation Plan (2013-2014) as well as on interventions for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) providing fundraising and advisory services, consulting support and research.

Solape is passionate about social change and has served on the Boards or Advisory Councils of various organisations in and outside the country.

She graduated from the University of Ibadan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics (1999) and also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from INSEAD.

Hakeem Fahm

Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Science and Technology, Lagos State

Mr. Hakeem Popoola Fahm was born on April 6, 1958 in Lagos Island. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Ohio University, Athens Ohio as well as Master in Business Administration in Computer Information and Systems Science from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Washington DC. His wealth of experience cuts across different fields in IT.

He started as a Computer Lab Technician and rose through the ranks to become the Chief Information Officer of the University in 2012. He led the ICT transformation at the University by building and implementing innovative solutions that includes IBM Enterprise Systems Architecture, upgrading System Network Architecture to TCP/IP based platform, Blackboard for Digital Learning, Internet2 for cutting edge applications and a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that integrates all disparate systems into a single platform.

In May 2013, he moved to Accenture Federal Services, a management and I.T. consulting firm as a Cloud Computing Architect. During his tenure at Accenture, he managed the operational modernization for the US Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Air Force, Department of Health and Human Services(Obama Care) and the Social Security Administration.

In January 10, 2018, Mr. Hakeem Fahm was appointed as Honourable Commissioner of Science and Technology, Lagos State, the position he occupied until May 28, 2019.

His passion for technology has earned him several accolades and certifications. Hakeem is married to Muftiat Fahm with three sons and one daughter.

Tomi Davies

Tech Strategy Advisor, Public Speaker and Angel Investor

Systems Analyst turned Tech Strategy Advisor, Public Speaker and Angel Investor, Harry ‘Tomi Davies (TD) is Collaborator-in-Chief at TechnoVision, co-founder of the Lagos Angel Network (LAN) and President of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN). For nearly two decades after graduating from the University of Miami TD led implementation of innovative technology-led transformation initiatives in the Oil & Gas, Retail, Information Technology and Telecommunications industries for influential global brands Elf Aquitaine, Marks & Spencer, Ernst & Young and Sapient across Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia.

In 2000 his focus shifted to Africa where he helped create the African Agriculture Technology Foundation (AATF), led the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) initiative in Nigeria and delivered a World Bank pilot of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel information system (IPPIS) that uncovered over 20,000 ghost workers in the Nigerian Government payroll system. Leading these kinds of innovative initiatives in Africa using his goal-oriented approach to project delivery which consistently delivered effective results inspired his 2014 book “The African Project Manager”.

TD is Chairman of TextNigeria (Telecoms) and Non-Executive Director at MBO Capital (Private Equity) and Big Cabal Media (Media & Entertainment). He is a member of the Lagos State Science, Research & Innovation Council (LASRIC) and sits on the board of Laptops4Learning (L4L) Nigeria, the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) and the Global Business Angels Network (GBAN).
As a thought leader with increasing knowledge gained from nurturing entrepreneurs in a growing portfolio of tech-enabled early stage business ventures originating from Africa, TD’s personal mission is “to help drive Africa’s development by supporting young entrepreneurs using innovation and technology to create social impact and economic value.”

Olatubosun Alake

Mr. Olatunbosun Alake is the Special Adviser on Innovation and Technology to the Governor of Lagos State.
Mr. Alake is an Information Technology & Business Management executive with years of experience spanning different disciplines within the technology and entertainment space. This includes Product Management, Business Intelligence, Application development & Business Development spanning across the Telecoms, IT and the Media & Entertainment industries. Mr. Alake has worked on, built and deployed a diverse set of enterprise applications that deliver value to employees and customers within said industries.

Prior to joining the government, Mr. Alake was the General Manager of IT and Innovation at the Filmhouse and FilmOne Group. The largest cinema and motion picture distribution group in West Africa.

Beginning his career as a technology consultant in Philadelphia, U.S.A, Mr. Alake was able to manage technology related issues for clients across the hardware and software spectrum. His transition to Nigeria saw him take up a position as the technical Learning & Development specialist at IPNX Telecoms Nigeria Ltd. where he deployed and managed technical and generic organizational learning programs that contributed to significant improvements in organizational productivity.

He subsequently worked in various functional and leadership positions at IPNX where he was the Head of the Business Intelligence unit tasked with developing and managing the Business Intelligence Architecture and Applications. The complex nature of this discipline exposed him to the critical nature of data management to the success of any entity.

Mr. Olatunbosun is an avid problem solver with a keen eye for identifying problems and gaps and proffering solutions that deliver value for consumers.

Mr. Olatunbosun Alake graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Information Science from Temple University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He also possesses a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in General Management.

Segun Adeniji

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science & Technology

Mr. Adeniji Segun Olufemi was born on 6th January, 1961 in Funtua, Katsina State to the family of late Mr and Mrs Michael and Comfort Adeniji of Igbore, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

His educational history began in 1967 at Bisije Primary School, Funtua, Katsina State. In 1973, he proceeded to Government Secondary School, Funtua before attending Federal School of Arts and science of Arts and Science for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) IN 1979. He thereafter proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos from where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in History in 1984. In 1995, he obtained a Master of Public Administration from the Lagos State University, Ojo and in 2013, a Commonwealth Diploma in Youth Development from the University of Abuja.

Mr. Adeniji started his Public Service career as an Assistant Secretary II, GL.08 in the then Lagos Refuse Disposal Board on 18th November 1985 and rose to the post of Assistant Chief Administrative Officer seeking transfer of Service into the mainstream of the Civil Service in year 2000.

He diligently served in the Office of the Special Adviser on Education from 2001-2005, Secretary Lagos State Sports Council ( 2005), Management Services and Reforms Office ( now OTCI) 2005-2007, Director Youth Development, Ministry of Youth and Social Development (2007-2011), Ministry of Rural Development ( 2011- 2013), Director of Administration & Human Resource, Ministry of Physical Planning & Urban Development ( 2013- 2015) and General Manager, Lagos Waste Management Authority (2016- 2018) being his last duty post before his present appointment, He was appointed as Permanent Secretary, Health Service Commission by His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on the 27th December, 2018.

Mr. Adeniji, who has successfully completed various special assignments for the State, He is happily married with Children.

Hakeem Adeniji-Adele

Hakeem Adeniji-Adele is the Deputy Managing Director of eTranzact International PLC
With over 20 years’ cognate technology and broad executive management experience, Hakeem was the Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft and prior to that he was a Director at Microsoft Nigeria where he successfully led digital transformation projects all over the country.

Hakeem has had a robust career at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in the UK, Accenture UK and Chelsea and Westminster Foundation, UK where he oversaw large pioneering projects with direct management responsibility for teams of consultants.

For his work, he was one of 22 selected from around the world as an awardee of the Eisenhower Fellowship in 2014 - an individualized program to take part in consultations with CEO’s and experts of Fortune 500 companies and Senior Government Officials across the United States.

Hakeem is a strategic planner, executor and delivers on large scale multi-million-dollar projects, successfully transforming technology into a strategic partner to enhance productivity and improve profitability

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of London, Goldsmith College in the UK, an MBA (Corporate Finance) from the University of Leicester Management School in the UK. A chartered IT Professional (CITP) by the BCS.

Mark Essien

CEO, Hotels.ng

Mark Essien is the CEO of Hotels.ng and the Co-Founder of HNG Internship. He studied computer engineering in the FU-Berlin, and followed it by founding Hotels.ng. The company has grown to be the biggest online hotel booking site in Nigeria, processing bookings worth billions of Naira of transactions annually. He co-founded the HNG Internship, a large-scale remote training program for software developers. Since inception, the program has trained over 25,000 people, and placed thousands in software development jobs.

Prof. Anetekhai Martins Agenuma

Science Director of Fisheries & Aquaculture at LASU

Anetekhai Martins is married to Emmanuella and the union is blessed with three children (Ewia, Nenie and Epue). He had his primary education at St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, Yaba and secondary education at St. John’s College, Fugar, Edo State. He possess B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D with specialisation in fisheries from the University of Ibadan in 1979, 1982 and 1986 respectively, and Certificate in aquaculture from the Lincoln University/ USDA, USA in 2005.

Anetekhai Martins rose to the rank of a professor in the year 2000 and currently the Director, Directorate for Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Lagos State University, Ojo, Nigeria and Chairman, Lagos State University Conflict Resolution and Policy Advisory Committee. He is also a Member, Science, Research and Innovation Council, Lagos State.

Professor Anetekhai has over 41 scholarly publications in learned journals and he is external assessor to many Universities locally and internationally for the award of PhD and promotion to Professorial Cadre.

He inaugurated his chair in November, 2002 with a lecture titled ‘Fisheries and National Empowerment’ and has supervised several PhD theses and still doing so. Five of the candidates he supervised their Ph.D theses have attained professorial rank. In the year 2008, Professor Anetekhai was adjudged the best PhD supervisor in biological Science in Nigeria by the National University Commission (NUC). He won the award for the National fish farmer of the year in 2007, 2010 and 2011.

He has contributed to the University, State, the Nation and the Continent as Head, Department of Fisheries and Zoology, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos from 1994 to 1997; Dean, Faculty of Science, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos from 2000-2004; Acting Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU) from January 27th, 2003 to Feb 5th, 2003; Director, Centre for Environment and Science Education (CESE), Lagos State University, Nigeria from 2004 to 2005 and Director, Lagos State University Foundation Programme from 2008 to 2011.

He was a Member of Lagos State University Governing Council from 2008 to 2010;Chairman, Business Committee of Senate; Member, Lagos State University Council’s Finance and General Purpose Committee (FT&GPC); Chairman, Lagos State University Governing Council Ad-Hoc Committee on harmonization and recommendation of ASSU/SANU/NASU Federal Government agreement; Member National Research Council of TETFund ;Chairman, National Committee on brood stock and Fingerling production and standardization; Member, National Technical Team that represented Nigeria in Cotonou for the review of FAO code of conduct for responsible fisheries in 1996; Member, National Fish Frame Survey and Fish Stock Assessment; Member, Presidential Technical Committee on anti-sea piracy against fish trawlers; Member, National Fisheries Development Council of Nigeria; Member, African Fisheries Reform Mechanism of the African Union.

Professor Anetekhai is a Fellow, Fisheries Society of Nigeria and Zoological Society of Nigeria; Hon. Fellow, Biomedical Association of Nigeria, and Member, World Aquaculture.

He has consulted for Shell Petroleum Company, Nigeria, World Bank Assisted Agricultural Development Project, Nigeria, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation, AGIP/KMPC, Chemonics /USAID/Nigeria, New Nigerian Foundation, FATE Foundation, Hogan Lovell’s International LLP, London and African Union.

Adeleke Alex-Adedipe

Adeleke is a corporate commercial lawyer and Managing Partner in charge of the Technology, Media and Telecommunication (“TMT”) practice in the office of Duale, Ovia & Alex- Adedipe (“The Firm”), a fast growing full-service law firm in Nigeria that provides a wide range of expert legal services to a highly diversified client base both local and international operating in various sectors of the economy. He specializes and has depth of experience in TMT, Banking and Finance, Capital Market, Real Estate, Company Secretarial and other corporate commercial practices.

Adeleke has been involved in the provision of legal advice to various local and international clients on compliance with the provisions of Nigerian law, drafting and reviewing various transactional documents and conducting legal due diligence investigations. He has also advised on several landmark and award winning transactions both locally and internationally in Banking and Finance, Media and Telecommunication, Energy Resources, Private Equity and Capital Market transactions. He was recently recognized by the ESQ Nigeria Legal Awards with the 40 under 40 award for outstanding achievements in the legal industry, Technology Team of the Year 2018 by Esq Nigeria Legal Awards, the Media & Entertainment Team of the Year 2017 by Esq Nigeria Legal Awards and Law Digest Africa Award 2018 as the Emerging Law Firm of the Year. He is currently the Vice Chairman Agricultural Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association- Section on Business Law. He is a staunch advocate of technology, data privacy and protection.

Peter Bamkole

Chairman, Nigeria Climate Innovation Center

Peter Bamkole pioneered the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan-Atlantic University in January 2003 – now one of the top enterprise development centers in Africa and a model which has been replicated in four African countries (Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania & Rwanda). As the Director of the Center, he is responsible for the overall program development, capacity building and support services to entrepreneurs and students across the university. Trained as a Mechanical Engineer in the UK, with MBA from IESE Business School in Spain and alumnus of Lagos Business School (LBS) Chief Executive Program, his 36 years’ cognate experience spans both public and private sectors.

He led the Goldman Sachs 10,000 women initiative in Nigeria, and was a consultant to the project in Liberia. He initiated and led several partnership programs with diverse stakeholders such as British Council, World Bank, IFC, Federal Government of Nigeria, Africa America Institute, Diamond Bank, Stanbic IBTC, Access Bank and MTN and a host of large corporates in the Nigerian SME ecosystem.

Peter consults widely in Sub-Saharan Africa on entrepreneurship development and practice. He currently chairs the board of Nigeria Climate Innovation Center, International Breweries Foundation and he is a member of the University Management Council. A recipient of the 2017 LBS Alumni Award and 2017 member of the year award from the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), Peter is a fellow of the Society for Corporate Governance, Nigeria

His current interest is designing new learning methods and e-support for SMEs.

Toba Otusanya

Toba Otusanya is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI) Lagos State.

Mr. Otusanya is an accomplished Management Consultant, Public Sector reforms expert. He has a B.A. (Hons) in Business and Human Resource Management from University of Sussex, United Kingdom, Post Graduate Diploma in Procurement Management from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom and Masters in Diplomacy and Strategic Studies (MDSS) from the University of Lagos.

Mr. Otusanya is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), United Kingdom and also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personal Management (MCIPM) Nigeria.

He has over 25 years of experience in various fields including project management, procurement, management consulting, human resource management, change management and public sector reforms. In his capacity as Director General, OTCI, he has chaired several technical committees on behalf of the State Government. These include:

• Technical Committee on HR Implementation in the Public Service

• Technical Committee on Public Service Reforms

• Technical Committee on Lagos State Homegrown Innovation Competition

Mr. Otusanya is passionate about HR best practice and was responsible for the introduction and implementation of professional human resource management in the Lagos State Public Service. Mr. Otusanya is an Alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). A recipient of the CIPM HR Best Practice Award, 2017 & 2019 and the Presidential Impact Award on Ease of Doing Business 2017 & 2018.

Bayo Adekambi

Chief Transformation Officer, MTN Nigeria

Bayo Adekanmbi is an award-winning business executive who combines 19 years of cognate industry experience in Strategy, Marketing, Analytics and Business Transformation from two largest economies in Africa (Nigeria and South Africa). He is a Kaggle-validated hands-on Data scientist and a doctoral researcher with a Data Science product patent on Social Pricing Recommender.

He graduated with Distinction from the University of Reading postgraduate School, United Kingdom, and has also had both full-time and executive education in many other leading institutions, including Columbia Business School, New York; The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Chicago; INSEAD Business School, France; Telecoms Training Institute, London; ETH Zurich, Switzerland; and Gatton College of Business at the University of Kentucky, Kentucky. He was on PhD research sabbatical at City, University of London (July 2015- September 2016) from his role as the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at MTN Nigeria, where he has also been awarded with the prestigious MTN Yello Star award for the conceptualisation of a Customer Value/Risk Management framework, which led to multi-billion naira revenue growth.

Post-sabbatical, Bayo is back at MTN Nigeria as the Chief Transformation Officer, driving a holistic programme aimed to accelerate business and financial performance through business reengineering, innovation and advanced analytics.

He is the convener of Data Science Nigeria, a non-profit that is building a world-class Artificial Intelligence knowledge, research and innovation ecosystem which delivers high impact & transformational research, business use applications, AI-first start-ups, employability and social good use cases. He is the author of "The Future is Shared“, “Artificial Intelligence Simplified for Starters” and Beginners‘ Artificial Intelligence & python programming for primary and Junior Secondary School

Oladokun Oye

He is currently; Vice – President Enterprise in Airtel Networks Limited. At various times, he has held various positions within Airtel as Regional Operations Director: Lagos region and General Manager Enterprise Business Operations A graduate of Lagos State University BA (Hons.) History (1992), Oladokun holds an MBA (2005) from Adekunle Ajasin University and a MSc. Strategic Marketing (2009) from University of Hertfordshire, UK. He started his career in Brand Management and later joined MTN Nigeria as a Key Account Manager. He later joined Avdel Limited UK as a Sales Manager. At Avdel Limited UK, he was responsible for managing Northern UK Oladokun Oye has a proven track record in negotiating substantial gains on company portfolios, improving company workflow systems with innovative effective management processes and improving company profitability through sales and marketing strategy formulations and implementation. Oladokun enjoys football, Lawn-tennis, watching movies, travelling and meeting people.

Adegoke Sikiru

Deputy Rector (Administration), Lagos State Polytechnic

Dr (Engr) Adegoke Adesoye Sikiru attended Lagos State University, Ojo where he obtained B.Sc Degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering. He also has M.Sc degree in Electronics & Computer Engineering from Lagos State University, Ojo with a specialization in wireless Communication Engineering Thereafter, he proceeded to the United Kingdom where he obtained a PhD degree in Embedded System and Telecommunication Engineering, from University of Leicester. He is a registered Engineer with COREN and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). Dr (Engr) Adegoke started his Lecturing career at Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, Borno state shortly after graduating from Lagos State University. He was there between years 1997 to 1999. Thereafter, he joined Yaba College of Technology, Yaba Lagos, between year 2000 and 2008.

He is a pioneering member of the Department of Computer Engineering, Yabatech. In 2008, he joined Lagos State Polytechnic to establish the Department of Computer Engineering as a Senior Lecturer. Consequently, he became the Head of Department (HOD) in same year. He rose through the ranks and now, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering. Presently, he is the Deputy Rector (Administration), Lagos State Polytechnic. He equally serves as an associate (visiting) Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Lagos State University, Epe.

He has served at different committees in all these Institutions either as Chairman or member. He is a member of African Space Weather Research Group based in University of Leicester, United kingdom. He is a consultant on RF Network planning, Network Deployment and optimization. He is an astute and prolific writer and has over forty (40) academic Publications. His works featured in so many scholarly international journals. He has presented papers at different forum both local and foreign conferences and workshops, including Durham University, UK, University of Manchester, UK, University of Bedfordshire, UK, University of Leicester, UK, Loughborogh University, UK, Lagos State Polytechnic, University of Lagos Akoka, etc. Some of his works appears in reputable local and international journals.

His research focus is on wireless radio wave propagation using the lower atmosphere (Tropospheric Propagation). Investigating and modeling of propagation losses in different media such as vegetation.
